The best preserved of Rome's ancient monuments, the Pantheon has become an emblem of the city. The Pantheon was built between AD119 and AD128, as a temple to the gods. The radius of the dome is exactly equivalent to its height. A 9 metre (30ft) hole, known as the oculus, in the dome's centre allows light (and rain) into the building.

The imaginative Trevi Fountain is situated on a tiny piazza and is one of the most romantic and popular sights in the world. This wonderful water feature is a popular destination for Rome’s visitors, always busy and always worth a visit! Throw a coin into the fountain and legend has it that you will return to Rome again one day.
