In 1997, a group of International airline executives felt the time had come to provide travelers with cheap airfares in Europe similar to a Rail Pass.

One year later, the EuropebyAir FlightPass was launched. The concept was simply to combine the routes flown by airlines in different countries into a European wide route network by offering cheap airfares for flights within Europe and simple, flexible conditions regarding changes.
